In 2018, an abandoned place in the centre of Kalkune parish (10 minute drive from Daugavpils)

began to transform. 

The Smirnovy family decided to save the ruins of a tractor repair shop (formier stabble) from 30 years of oblivion.

The husband, a builder, and the wife, a tour guide, work together to bring the Augustplatz project to life.

The name Augustplatz is a homage to August von Ettingen, former owner of Kalkune manor.

So many historical events, famous names and interesting stories are associated with our our little parish.

Our goal is to make Augustplatz a favorite destination for locals and tourists alike!
